Meet Carole, our pattern designer...
I am honored to have the privilege of sharing some of her beautiful work with you. Carole and I have been blessed to share a quilting friendship for many years, and I thank her for all she has taught me.
I hope you enjoy reading a little bit about Carole and enjoy her beautiful work. Many of Carole’s patterns are available for purchase and are shown below.
Carole Corder has been creating quilts for more than 40 years and carries on a family tradition that reaches back four generations. Her first appliqué project was a Bucilla Dogwood “kit” given to her by her mother while Carole awaited the birth of her first child and the return of her husband from military duties in Vietnam
From that time, while her quilts include pieced quilts, embroidery and more, appliqué remains her favorite. Her original patterns for both appliqué and pieced quilts are distributed through her company, Mission Lake Designs.
Carole began teaching in New Braunfels, Texas, in the late 1970s. She has taught classes throughout the years in hand appliqué, hand and machine piecing and hand and machine quilting in Oklahoma, Oregon, and Washington. Now retired with her husband, Tom, on Mission Lake in Kettle Falls, Washington, she continues to teach, design, and travel promoting her love of and expertise in the delicate art of handwork.
Carole and her husband of 52 years have raised 4 children. Each of the 9 grandchildren has their own specially designed quilt by Grandma.
